TONY KANDAH
Founder
Tony Kandah’s film career began at Dexter, Dryer and Lai, where, under the mentorship of Ron Dexter, he honed his craft working on commercials for prestigious brands like Cathay Pacific Airlines and Buick. As a production manager at PM Entertainment Group, he contributed to the production of impactful films such as “Private Wars” and “Fist of Honor.” In 1993, Kandah achieved international recognition as co-writer, co-director, and producer of “L.A. Wars,” followed by successes like “Mask of Death” and “Starforce.” Recognizing the need to support independent filmmakers, he launched Hollywood Wizard in 2004, a boutique sales and production company. During this time, Kandah served as executive producer and financier for several independent films, including “Shira: The Vampire Samurai” (2005), “Horrors of War” (2006), “Ballistica” (2010), and “Always Faithful” (2014), demonstrating his commitment to bringing diverse stories to the screen. His dedication to industry growth was further evidenced by his tenure on the Board of Directors of the Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA) from 2006 to 2012. In 2019, Kandah’s vision culminated in FlixHouse®, a streaming platform dedicated to showcasing exceptional independent movies, documentaries, and live TV channels.
